Don Draper
Title: Research Operations Manager
Additional Biographical Information:
Before joining NWEA in 2008, Don served as the associate director of the Masters of Education program at Warner Pacific College. Prior to that, he served as the graduate programs coordinator for the Master of Religion and Masters of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies for the college. Don has also been recognized in 2005 and 2006 by the Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education for his work with high school students. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Portland.
What is the best thing about living in Oregon?
Oregon! The ocean, mountains, rivers, deserts, lush green forests and the abundance of wildlife. Of course, we have to put up with a little rainfall now and again but it is worth it.
What was your first job out of college?
I was a gable maker.
What do you like best about working with the Kingsbury Center team?
Every day is something new and I am constantly learning about data, various value added models, or being kept up to date on the latest education policy debates. Each team member brings a level of professionalism and dedication to their job which is evident in everything they do which only makes me want to learn even more and work harder.
When was the last time you were out of the country?
I visited Vietnam two years ago. Beautiful country, great food and a very unique transportation system.

Fahrenheit 451 – a timeless classic.
